The graduation party invites are rolling in and the contents of lockers are being stuffed into bookbags - that means it’s officially summer! There are lots of great events and festivals happening in Northeast Ohio now that the weather has warmed up. Take a look at some of the June events we’re most excited for below:
When the rain comes or the heat of summer is too much, head inside to the Great Lakes Science Center for their new exhibit that looks at the science, technology, engineering and math of automobiles. From tots to teens, from augmented reality to self-driving cars, there’s something cool to learn for everyone.
June 8, Saturday 10am - 4pm
Parade the Circle has been a staple event for the Cleveland Museum of Art for 30 years. The festival of creativity and culture fills the air with “color, music, and art." This year’s theme is the Mythology of Illusion, which is sure to mean some great costumes! So mark your calendars!
June 9, Sunday 1pm - 7pm
Lakewood has a reputation for some seriously great eats and the Taste of Lakewood is your once a year chance to sample them all on a single day. Come out to taste all the delicious food from Lakewood’s restaurants, stay for the live music, drinks and mini marketplace.
June 15, Saturday
If you’re a music lover, Larchmere Porchfest should be a must on your summer to-do list. The fest consists of 30 bands playing on 30 porches. And there’s something magical about strolling down the street among crowds of locals and finding music of all genres playing on neighborhood porches.
June 19-23, Wednesday-Sunday
This year is the 50th anniversary of the Cuyahoga River catching fire. And of Cleveland’s wake up call to the health of our waters. Cuyahoga50 celebrates the work that followed and looks at how we can continue it into the future. From lectures to art projects, the week will be filled with special events focusing on the waterways of Northeast Ohio and their importance to us all.
