Spring is almost here. The days are longer, the sun shines more warmly and the backyard has got little spots of green growing up through the brown and gray of winter. Northeast Ohio doesn’t hibernate during the winter, but now that the weather’s turned a little more forgiving, there’s even more reason to get out and about. Below we’ve put together a list of some fun activities for family, friends, or just some solo time.
April 29 - March 22
It’s here today, not going to stay! It’s that time of year, time for the I-X Indoor Amusement Park. A staple of the Northeast Ohio spring, this event has got plenty of entertainment to chase away cabin fever: rides. music, games, food and more. Grab the whole family and head to the I-X Center.
March 01 - June 01
As the weather starts to warm and the little green shoots start to bloom, head out into the Cleveland Metroparks for the Tour of Wildflowers, a scavenger hunt to find native wildflowers. Complete the checklist before June 1 and you’ll receive your own packet of wildflower seeds. What could be a better reprieve from winter than wandering through nature looking for pretty flowers!
April 01, Monday 4:10 - 7:30 pm
Baseball season officially begins in Cleveland with the home opener on April 1st. If you don’t manage to grab a fast selling ticket to Progressive Field (or as in the hearts of many, Jacobs Field), there are still plenty of places around town to cheer on our Tribe as they start a new season.
If you’ve got little ones in your life who love Sesame Street, this live performance with Elmo and Abby Cadabby will be the perfect treat for them. Telling the story of an amazing journey and teaching the lessons of perseverance and practice, this show takes place on two days at the Cleveland State Wolstein Center.
April 13, Saturday
Beginning in 2007, Record Store Day has grown mightily. Started as a way to celebrate independent record stores and the unique culture that they promote, participating record stores will offer a list of freebies such as special vinyl releases or promotional products to customers throughout the day and many will have visiting artists. Check the website to find stores near you and support your local record stores!
April 22, Monday
Historically a Polish tradition that celebrates Easter Monday, Cleveland’s Dyngus Day has grown into a celebration of our city’s Polish roots and heritage as well. If you’ve never been, head out to the Gordan Square Arts District on Monday April 22nd, dance the polka, eat good food, drink great beer and share in a fun of Dyngus Day the Cleveland way.
