February is just around the corner, and with its approach is coming some of the coldest weather Northeast Ohio has seen in years. But hopefully this cold spell won’t last long and you’ll be looking for something to dislodge the cabin fever. Here are some great events you can check out in the coming weeks.
February 1 - 10
It’s that time of year again! Time for the Great Big Home + Garden Show at the IX Center. Whether you’re looking to completely remodel the kitchen, or just jazz up your little backyard garden, you’ll find plenty to take it at the Home + Garden show. The show starts on Friday, February 1st and runs through Sunday, February 10th.
February 2, Saturday
Celebrate Groundhog’s Day with a day of fun at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. There will be live animal demonstrations, family craft activities, and of course plenty of information about the noble groundhog.
February 15 - 18
Now in its 25th year, the Medina Ice Festival is a wintertime stable of Northeast Ohio fun. You’ll see stunning ice sculptures, watch demonstrations of speed craving, compete in competitions and much more! The festival runs through the weekend to Monday February 18th.
February 16, Saturday, 1 - 4 pm
Take a trip to the Western Reserve Historical Society to have a drink and explore the rich history of Cleveland’s African American community. You’ll learn about the African Americans in the fine arts, music, and theater throughout our city’s history. Celebrate their legacies with contemporary performances and an exclusive look at the Western Reserve collections.
February 18, Monday, 10 am - 1 pm
Gather the little ones and head over to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo for Fairytales and Frogs. Dress as your favorite fairytale character and warm up at an afternoon tea party in the Rainforest exhibit where it’s always 80! Children under 11 receive free admission with a purchased adult admission.
February 23, Saturday, 3 pm - 1 am
We’re tough in Cleveland - we don’t let a little winter weather slow us down. Brite Winter is a celebration of the hardy but warm soul of Clevelanders. A festival filled with art, live music and food, Brite Winter will light up the West Bank of the Flats late into the night.
